Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has said that Jack Wilshere should have taken part in the team GB at the Olympics in London. Jack Wilshere is one of the first names of the team sheet and he could have had a great chance to represent Great Britain at the London Olympics 2012.
However, the England midfielder has listened to the advice from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and has decided to pull away from the tournament. Wenger recently confirmed that Jack Wilshere will be missing the rest of the season as a result of this injury.
Cesc Fabregas moved to Barcelona in the summer for £ 35 million. Jack Wilshere was the man expected to replace the Spaniard, but the England midfielder has suffered a number of niggling injuries since the departure of Fabregas. Wilshere recently said in an interview that he has decided to pull away from the tournament after heeding the advice of Wenger.
He said that he wanted to give as much time as possible for the injury to fully heal. Cesc Fabregas, though, does not go along with this, as he says that the decision of representing Great Britain should have taken by the player and not the manager.
