FANS WANT MORE
The Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas matured into one of the best midfielders in the world during his spell at Arsenal. The eight seasons spent at the Premier league club also transformed him into a £ 35 million footballer after his return to Barcelona.
However, the midfielder is of the opinion that his spell with the Premier league club has actually led to the Barcelona fans demanding more from him. The 25-year-old left Barcelona when he was just 16. Fabregas thinks that his relationship with the Barcelona fans has turned frosty of late after being initially received warmly following his transfer.
Fabregas has said that he has no margin for error because one bad game results in the fans forgetting the previous 10 good matches. The 25-year-old has scored eight goals this season, but his goal return has not been up to the mark expected by Barcelona fans. He has had to take 29 appearances in order to reach this figure.
The midfielder, though, reckons that it is primarily due to the search for identity that he is going through at the moment. As a result of this poor form, Fabregas has not been a first-team regular under the management of Tito Vilanova, but the midfielder has promised to fight till the end. The odds of Barcelona winning the Primera Liga have been lengthening on the Unibet website, but Fabregas hopes to change that.
“I left and they paid £30 million for me. Every bad game I have wipes out 10 good performances. I graft at this club more than anyone, I’ll fight to the end,” said Fabregas. Barcelona are currently top of the Spanish league, but they are in danger of being knocked out of the Champions league in the last 16 stage itself. They are currently trailing the Italian club AC Milan 2-0 on aggregate from the first leg. Meanwhile, they have lost in the back-to-back matches against Real Madrid as well.
