AC Milan have been drawn against the current champions Barcelona for the quarter-final draw. Everyone pretty much admits to the fact that Barcelona are currently the best team in the world. AC Milan have already faced Barcelona in the Champions League this season – in the group stages. They managed a draw at the Camp Nou, while they were defeated narrowly 3-2 at the San Siro.
AC Milan come into the match on the back of the confidence inspiring 2-1 win over Roma during the weekend. It has taken them seven points clear at the top of the table. Juventus are currently the second placed team at the moment. Ambrosini praised Barcelona by saying that they are currently the best team in the world without a share of doubt. He also said that AC Milan should not be going into the match thinking about making mistakes, because if they do so, they are bound to commit some.
“We must stop thinking that we can make mistakes. Otherwise, you unconsciously get the idea in your head that you can afford to lose games. Barcelona are the strongest side in the world, it does not take a magician to tell you that. It will be a very important and difficult match for us, but also one that will give us so much motivation. The Blaugrana have so many good players at their disposal that we have to give our best,” Ambrosini told Sky Sport Italia. AC Milan will not have the services of influential defender Thiago Silva for the match.
