Barcelona Had Replacement Lined Up
The departure of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona was not a surprise for the Spanish club as they had already signed someone who was going to replace him even before Fabregas signed a 5 year long contract with Chelsea.
The Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic formed an integral part of Sevilla’s UEFA Europa League winning team which motivated Barcelona on making a move for him.

The star of Sevilla, Ivan Rakitic will be arriving to Camp Nou with a price tag of €15 million but will not officially unveil the player and signing to the public and fans of the club at least until next Tuesday as there are details and paperwork that needs to be verified and has to be in order.
Ivan Rakitic is the 3rd summer signing of Barcelona as they have already secured the services of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Alen Halilovic. The club of Luis Enrique managed on appealing their transfer ban which was postponed and will start on January of 2015.
While Rakitic will be making his way to Barcelona, Fabregas is yet another player that Jose Mourinho got a hold of before anyone else as the Spanish midfielder is expected to play a huge role in the upcoming season of Chelsea where they will also play in the Champions League and Diego Costa is on the verge of joining the Premier League club as well.
Jose Mourinho is confident that Diego Costa is going to make his move to Chelsea when the 2014 World Cup as Chelsea has launched an offer of €32 million for the 25 year old striker.
