Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has told Cesc Fabregas that he wants him to improve the defensive side of his game.
He said that the player is a great playmaker and that he is an instrumental player for Chelsea when going forward but he needs to improve a lot when it comes to winning the ball back.
He said that the player will have to learn from his midfield partner Kante and that he will have to contribute defensively to the team.
Antonio Conte said that Fabregas had been an important player so far this season as he is the one creating chances in the absence of Hazard. He said that there is no doubt that Fabregas is a great offensive midfielder, but there are games where he will be required to tackle a bit more. He said that it is on this aspect of his game that he wants him to work on. Continue reading Conte wants Fabregas to improve

Former Chelsea and Spurs defender Graham Roberts condemned the comments of Chelsea players, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas for their open comments on who they prefer to lift the English Premier League this season.
He described the comments about wanting Leicester City to win the EPL title over Tottenham Hotspurs as “ridiculous” and unprofessional.
Chelsea face Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Monday before hosting Leicester on the final day of the season, meaning that last season’s Premier League title winners could yet have a big say on the destination of the trophy this time around.
Eden Hazard after the 4-1 victory over Bournemouth last weekend said that “the fans, the club and the players” want to see Leicester edge out Tottenham in the title race. On the other hand, Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas had earlier revealed that he too would be rooting against Spurs most likely due to his links to the emirates where he played for years.
The comments angered many as it led to suggestions that Chelsea might deliberately lose to Leicester in order to deny Tottenham the title and undermine the integrity of the Premier League and the Chelsea coach had to come out to deny the suggestions.
“You can think it but you don’t need to say it. Continue reading ROBERTS CONDEMN FABREGAS AND HAZARD’S COMMENTS
Jose Mourinho criticized the current Barcelona squad around 1 week ago as he stated that even though Gerardo Martino has Lionel Messi and a number of other great players in the team, the Portuguese coach still considers the squad to be the worst Barcelona of many years.
“Of course they have Lionel Messi, he is special, and they have more than him. But I think this is the worst Barcelona of many many years”. Mourinho stated.
That was the statement that Mourinho expressed just before Barcelona went head to head with Manchester City for the 1st leg of the Champions League. Mourinho was stating that the Premier League team has a chance on defeating Barcelona as it just is not the same squad it was some years ago.
Cesc Fabregas has responded to Mourinho by saying that he should focus and only talk about the responsibilities and matches he has with Chelsea instead of going into the business of another club.
“He should talk about Chelsea and their tie. I don’t think he should talk about anything else. It is not his business. Some people want us to fail all the time; some people have been talking a bit too much, for a few days they will have to shut up.” Fabregas said.
Barcelona came out on top during their match against Manchester City as they won with a final scoreboard of 2-0 which is a huge advantage as the 2nd leg will now be played in the home turf of Barcelona, Camp Nou.
“It is normal everyone gets excited over this win, especially in a nice competition like the Champions League. We knew what we had to do and did it very well.” Fabregas added.
Former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said that Barcelona still need to do a lot in order to make it into the next stage of the Copa del Rey. Barcelona have qualified for the Copa del Rey final, but Cesc Fabregas has said that the club needs to perform even better in order to win the trophy this season. Real Madrid are the current holders of the Copa del Rey, but Barcelona managed to eliminate them from the competition in the last round itself. Now, they have made it into the finals of the competition after securing a 2-0 win over Valencia.
Despite making it into the finals of the cup competition, Cesc Fabregas has said that Barcelona should not become complacent because they still need to go a long way into achieving the targets for the season. Barcelona are way behind Real Madrid in the domestic campaign. They are 10 points behind Real Madrid in the league, which has put their hopes of retaining the title for the fourth consecutive season in major doubt. However, they have one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions league after securing a 3-1 win over Bayern Leverkusen in the last 16 round.
“We’re very happy and proud. Some talk the cup down, but we want to play [in] all finals. We will always try to be on top. Athletic are a great team in the making, they have great players and [it] will be a nice final. [For] now we must focus on the league, where we have much to do, and the Champions League,” Cesc Fabregas said after the 2-0 win over Valencia that helped Barcelona enter to the finals of the competition. The venue for the final has not been decided yet, but there are rumours that Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu will be chosen.
Despite moving to Barcelona after ending an eight-year stay with Arsenal, Cesc Fabregas seems to be extremely close to Arsenal. He has always said that he would be maintaining a close affinity with the club and he truly has kept his words. One of the main things Arsenal have been lacking in recent seasons has been a trophy. They simply have not been able to win a trophy since moving to the new Emirates Stadium. Cesc Fabregas was part of the Arsenal side that came close to winning many trophies, but ended up winning nothing. After moving to Barcelona, Cesc Fabregas won two trophies immediately. No, he says that he is hoping that Arsenal would be winning trophies in the future.
Fabregas has also said that one of his long-standing wishes is to see Arsenal end their long six-year wait for a trophy. The last trophy that Arsenal won was in 2005 (the FA Cup victory over Manchester United, in which Patrick Vieira scored the winning penalty). Whilst the victory will forever be remembered by the Arsenal supporters, Cesc hopes for more trophies in the next few years.
Cesc Fabregas was one of the few players who had managed to lift the trophy during his time as Arsenal captain, in recent seasons and now wants someone else to lead them to glory. Speaking to Sky Sports, Fabregas said “I still support Arsenal, even though I’m now at Barca. I’ve been extremely lucky because I’ve been able to watch nearly every game. They started the season lacking in confidence but it now looks like they are playing well and scoring goals. They play great football, so as a Gunners fan I believe they can win thisngs.”
Even though Arsenal have not made any major signings this summer, they recovered sufficiently from their poor start to the season to be in a position to challenge for trophies this season.
