Fabregas to City
There are reports that Manchester City might make a move for Chelsea and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The midfielder has already played under Pep Guardiola at Barcelona and might be interested in meeting with his former manager again.
Manchester City who has failed to win a game for 5 matches now are looking for players that can strengthen the team. It is believed that Pep Guardiola wants to sign Cesc Fabregas who seems to be unsettled at Chelsea. The player has failed to adapt to Antonio Conte system and seemed to be only a fringe player for the Chelsea team.
Cesc Fabregas will feel that moving to Manchester City can provide him with more playing time and give him a career boost.
However, some pundits believe that Cesc Fabregas is not the right player for Manchester City. They believe that the team needs defensive reinforcement and that Fabregas is not really a defensive midfielder.
What the team will need is a quality central defender and probably a defensive midfielder that will provide additional cover for the defensive line. At the moment, Manchester City seems to be doing well up front with Aguero and De Bruyne is fine form. It is only at the back that the team appears to be leaking goals and would definitely improve with the arrival of better defenders at the back.
Pep Guardiola said that he is satisfied with the players at his disposal at the moment, but he would not say no to the arrival of new players during the January transfer window. It is believed that City will open official talks with Chelsea in the weeks to come.
Fabregas said that he is happy at Chelsea and that he will do everything he can in order to get his place back in the team.
