CESC WILL RETURN
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he expects the former midfielder Cesc Fabregas to return to the club one day. The 25-year-old recently joined Barcelona in a £ 35 million deal after spending eight seasons at Arsenal. Fabregas had made no secret of the fact that he had a lot of love for his boyhood club Barcelona, from whom Arsenal managed to secure his signature for around £ 2 million as a 16-year-old. During his time at Arsenal, Fabregas won very little but he has already managed to lift several trophies since joining Barcelona.
Fabregas is a player who regards both Arsenal and Barcelona in the same breath. As a result, Wenger thinks that the player will be making that return to the club in four years time. Since the departure of Fabregas, many top players like Samir Nasri, Robin van Persie, and Alex Song have departed the club. It remains to be seen if Fabregas will want to come to Arsenal, who have a very little chance of winning in the trophy in the near future. The club has not managed to win a single trophy since the 2005 FA Cup victory. Almost no player from the squad of that season survives now.
“I’m not convinced Fabregas won’t come back here one day. He’s an Arsenal man. He loves Arsenal. He watches every Arsenal game. Barcelona was his home town where he grew up and you have to accept this, especially as Barcelona are the best team in the world. He won’t return in the next two or three years but, after that, maybe. It was the tipping point for me. It’s important that we have some consistency. If they are ingrained with Arsenal, it is easier to keep them,” said Arsene Wenger, whose team sit outside the top four.
