Cesc Fabregas – New Name in Football History Books
Cesc Fabregas joined Chelsea on June of 2014 but the Spanish midfielder is already writing his name on the history books of the Premier League by breaking records and has turned into the player that has provided more assists for his teammates in less appearances than any other player.
The statistics have shown that Fabregas has made 82 assists in less than 250 Premier League matches which is a better record and statistic than Eric Cantona and Didier Drogba.
Another statistic also popped up which confirmed that Fabregas has racked up more assists for Chelsea in this season than Jack Wilshere has managed to do for Arsenal in his entire career.
Wilshere has only been able to provide his teammates with 11 assists in 95 appearances but the player is struggling with injuries which has not allowed him to play at his optimal condition.
Jack Wilshere is a player that was considered to be as the next ‘’Fabregas’’ but he has not lived up to his nickname and those expectations.
Fabregas is currently the highest assist-maker in the Premier League and he has expressed his joy in the philosophy that Chelsea is developing as it’s similar to his former club Barcelona.
“Mourinho adapts to the players he has, What makes him so great as a coach is that he adapts to any situation and his teams can play in many different ways. It’s a very intelligent way of managing.
“I’d say that Barca have a style that he has already experienced and understands perfectly.
“We play a very similar game; we want to be the team that takes the initiative, have possession and look to score. We may have a different system, but the philosophy is similar.” The Spanish midfielder told reporters.
