Arsenal wants Cesc back
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has stated that the club should take steps to bring back former midfielder Cesc Fabregas to the club. Fabregas was sold to Barcelona for around £ 35 million a few years ago. This ensured that he returned to the club where he started his career as a youngster. However, the return to Barcelona has been extremely inconsistent for the 26-year-old. The have been times when Fabregas has been criticised by his own supporters. He came close to leaving the club in the summer when Manchester United were heavily interested in him.
After another season of inconsistent form, Fabregas may be put on the market in order to raise money for further purchases. This has opened the window for Arsenal bringing back the player, who did so well for them during his eight-year stay. Wilshere, who has become the new Fabregas within the Arsenal team, says that the Premier league outfit should try and persuade Fabregas to return to the Emirates. Arsenal have already signed a number of high-profile midfielders in recent years with the £ 42 million purchase of Mesut Ozil being the latest.
Arsenal are likely to invest in a striker rather than a midfielder in the summer after Arsene Wenger pointed out the lack of goals from the team.
‘Would you like to have Cesc back in the squad? Of course who wouldn’t?” said Wilshere on his Twitter account. Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger confirmed that Wilshere is likely to be fit along with a couple of other players for the FA Cup final. “Ramsey could be available and Wilshere too. Gibbs is also back in the squad, he has been doing normal training, but Oxlade-Chamberlain is still out,” said the Arsenal manager.
The 22-year-old Wilshere has suffered numerous injury problems this campaign, but he is expected to be fit for the World Cup.
